Overview & Project Report

  • Collaborated in a team of three to design an build a truss bridge capable of supporting a vertically placed spherical load

    • Utilized principles of statics to optimize design and predict force distributions across individual members

  • Designed bridge dimensions in SOLIDWOR​KS & used built-in Finite Element Analyzer to check the calculated assumptions 

  • Placed 2nd of 24 teams achieving a mechanical advantage of 424, having weighed 25 g and supported 10600 g
